It's hard to imagine how a more grim human future, where there just isn't the time space & finances for impulsive, persistent, curious fucking around & finding out. This article is a good testament to what having slack & time & freedom permits. The alternate-history version of humanity where we were all chained to the feudalistic machine is grim.
